Natural stone fabrication is a blend of automation and hard work.

Automated cutting and polishing equipment assure timely production of standard, high quality stone at a surprisingly affordable cost. Yet experienced stone craftsmen are still essential to ensure non-standard pieces are shaped and finished perfectly.

Despite granites and engineered stones having a high degree of resistance to scratching, heat and staining, they are not totally infallible and we recommend reading our care and maintenance page to ensure your investment lasts a lifetime.

As granite is 100% natural it may require some maintenance by means of sealing. This is part of our fabrication process. Ongoing, this can be done by yourself or by a professional as often as you feel required.

Stone Finishes

POLISHED

A high gloss smooth finish. The reflectivity of polished crystal brings out the brilliant colours and grains of natural stone. The shine comes from the natural reflection of the stone’s crystals and is not from an artificial coating. Refer to our care and maintenance advice.

honed

A matte or semi-gloss surface finish with relatively little light reflection. This matte appearance is achieved by buffing the stone surface to a lesser degree than the standard polish finish. Taking the high polish off the stone will make it more porous meaning marking may occur. Refer to our care and maintenance advice.

Textured

A texturing tool is put over the surface which removes the softer mineralisation on the surface and smoothes over the remaining stone, leaving a textured with a slight topography and matte finish. Taking the high polish of the stone will make it more porous meaning marking may occur. Refer to our care and maintenance advice.
